A cloud kitchen in Koramangala was undergoing FSSAI licence renewal and was required to upgrade its ceiling to a material that would withstand steam, grease, and the daily cleaning regime — the existing mineral fibre tiles were visibly absorbing grease and failing the inspector's surface standard.
Replaced all mineral fibre tiles with calcium silicate tiles throughout the kitchen, prep area, and cold storage approach. The sealed surface of calcium silicate does not absorb grease or moisture and can be wiped clean directly without surface damage.
The kitchen passed its FSSAI inspection on the first follow-up visit, with the ceiling surface specifically noted as meeting the required hygiene standard. The operator reported a dramatic reduction in time spent cleaning the ceiling area during the weekly deep-clean session.
