A pharmaceutical testing laboratory in Peenya required its clean room ceiling to meet both fire safety and ISO 14644 cleanroom requirements for particle control — a combination that eliminated most standard ceiling tile options.
Installed calcium silicate tiles with a smooth, sealed surface finish in the cleanroom zone, mounted in a gasketted grid system designed for cleanroom applications. All tile edges and grid junctions were sealed with cleanroom-compatible silicone sealant to prevent particle shedding.
The cleanroom ceiling was validated during the lab's ISO 14644 certification audit and cleared without findings. The fire rating of the calcium silicate tiles also met the facility's insurer's specification. The lab achieved its certification on the first audit cycle.
