A new restaurant needed a ceiling that created distinct zones — intimate dining, bar area, and private section — under one continuous ceiling plane. Acoustic control was critical to prevent noise from the bar overwhelming the dining area.
Designed a continuous gypsum ceiling with three distinct profiles — flat with recessed lights over the bar, a softer cove-lit tray over dining, and a lower, more enclosed profile for the private section. Acoustic glasswool was laid above the gypsum boards throughout the dining zone.
Each zone has its own atmosphere despite sharing an open floor plan. The bar is lively, the dining area maintains conversational comfort, and the private section feels genuinely enclosed. The restaurant owner credited the ceiling design as a major contributor to the guest experience.
